Introduction to Art Clay Silver |
In this two half day
workshop the student will learn all about Art Silver Clay and how
it can be used to create beautiful jewelry in hours rather than
days. Art Silver Clay is exactly as the name describes, it is clay
that is 99.9% fine silver with the addition of a nontoxic binder
and water. Because it is clay, it can be molded, rolled, shaped,
carved, stamped, draped and adorned with other elements to create
beautiful jewelry. Once the clay is formed, it is fired in a kiln
or with a butane torch. The binder and water burn away and the student
is left with a beautiful piece of fine silver jewelry.
In this workshop, the student will make three to four pieces of
jewelry. The instructor will discuss the Art Clay medium, demonstrate
techniques and help students to create earrings, charms and pendants.
